Jeanette Williams Foundation Teams With Yachty Gras To Make Christmas Brighter for Children Treated At UTMB Edgewater Development Opens Doors for Toy Drive
November 23, 2010 (Clear Lake) – The Jeanette Williams Foundation teamed up with Yachty Gras, November 18th at Edgewater Development's model home on West Fork for a Toy Drive for children being treated at UTMB. Johnson Development's Jamie Virkus welcomed guests who had been asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a child aged from newborns to 16 years old.
"Our goal is to collect 100 toys before mid-December when we will deliver the gifts to the children at UTMB," said Dianne Troop, founder of the Jeanette Williams Foundation. "Tonight we gathered about 50 gifts, so we're half-way there! We want to be able to give each child at least one new toy for Christmas."
Foundation board members, Julie Johnson, Bernie Anderson, and Era Lee Coldwell attended the Toy Drive celebration, and Troop is convinced this group will meet or exceed their goal. "When it comes to kids and Christmas, it tugs at your heart," Troop said. "When a child has to spend Christmas in the hospital, you want to make sure they at least have new toys! We're dedicated to collecting the toys we need to make sure those kids have a Merry Christmas."
The Jeanette Williams Foundation is a 501c3 organization founded in the memory of Dianne Troop's mother, Jeanette Willliams, for the purpose of raising funds to help children with cancer and their families. With your help we can truly make a difference for these children.
